2019 Season Overview

Our 2019 Season marks 30 years since I returned home from the US and began creating innovative concerts around Australia.

With consistent rave reviews from audiences and critics alike, and broadcasts on both the ABC Classic FM network and the MBS network, our joyous, intimate concerts continue to be treasured by our listeners, whether they are hearing Selby & Friends for the first time or are loyal subscribers who have attended our concerts for many years.

Having presented so many stunning and engaging artists over the years, Selby & Friends is delighted to welcome back brilliant Australian solo violinists Natalie Chee, Susie Park & Daniel Dodds with SSO Leader Andrew Haveron in 2019. Adding to our superb artistic ensemble are favourite charismatic cellists, ACO Principal Timo-Veikko Valve, SSO Principal Umberto Clerici & Julian Smiles. New to Selby & Friends in 2019 is the young Australian cellist Richard Narroway who, with returning violin star Grace Clifford, joins our program to support outstanding young Australians on their professional journey.

We are excited to venture into a new home in Canberra – the beautiful Llewellyn Hall in special Chamber Music Mode with limited reserved seating - and, in the Southern Highlands, we return to our old home at the recently refurbished Performing Arts Centre, Chevalier College.

Filled with piano trios, solo sonatas and a breadth of variety that will surprise and stimulate, this is a special season of beautiful music performed by spectacular artists whose expertise, charisma and prowess will thrill and inspire.

We hope you will join us in 2019!
