Tributes & Legacies (Twilight Series)
The Twilight Series at Melbourne Recital Centre is a one hour concert, with no interval, beginning at 5pm.
This closing program for the season is all about the strength of legacy and the tributes it brought forth from each composer. We begin with a piano work by Ravel, created as a tribute to the early French composer Couperin which was then arranged beautifully for piano trio by American composer Matt van Brink. We end the season with Schumann’s glowing and soulful first piano trio with its inclusions of special personal significance for him of his wife, Clara Schumann. Natsuko and Richard are two stunning performers who will work together for the first time with Kathy in this lustrous final program for the year.
