Four-Part Harmony
This program of beautiful piano quartets with four artists of extraordinary skill and warmth will be thrilling. With two Principals from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra – Concertmaster Andrew Haveron and Principal Viola Tobias Breider – along with young rising star cellist Miles Mullin-Chivers, we open with the lyrical hymn-like work by well-known Australian composer Paul Stanhope. The passionate world of Fauré’s great first piano quartet is a perennial favourite and the program closes with the unending and delicious melodies by Dvořák in his last piano quartet. A rare treat for Selby & Friends and a program to truly savour.
